 Hall gets a needed makeover

Hall gets a needed makeover

01 Feb, 2012 12:00 AM
THE Guide Hall at Campbell Town is a shadow of its former self as a $120,000 renovation nears completion.

The Northern Midlands Council renovation project will be completed this month.

Prior to the renovations Campbell Town Venus Girl Guide leader Madeleine Scott said birds inhabited the building, plants grew inside and the roof leaked.

Not any more.

The new and improved building is something the town can now be proud of, with the outside now a dark red Colourbond.

Disabled access, an inside toilet, new windows and doors, an electrical upgrade, and insulation are some of the other improvements the hall has seen.

A date for the official opening is not yet known.

Hopes that the facility will be used by community groups and sporting organisations in the region look promising.
